Essential Documents for Your Navigo Card
To get your hands on this golden ticket of Parisian public transport, you’ll need to prepare a few key documents:
- Valid Photo Identification: A passport or any government-issued ID card that verifies your identity.
- Recent Passport-Sized Photograph: A color photo, taken within the last six months, to attach to your application.
- Proof of Residence (for residents or long-term visitors): A utility bill, lease agreement, or any official document showing your Parisian address. This is particularly important if you’re applying for a reduced fare.
- Completed Application Form: Available at ticket counters or online, this form needs to be filled out with your personal details.
Special Note for Students Under 26
If you are a student under 26 years of age, you can apply for a yearlong Imagine R card. This discounted card offers unlimited access to the Paris region transportation network, including metro, RER, bus, and tramways, for 350 euros for the year. You can apply for the Imagine R card online at Navigo.fr.
Unfortunately, if you are 26 years of age or more, or in Paris for only one semester, you cannot subscribe to this discounted card. Instead, you will need to purchase a Navigo Pass.
