Steps to activate an Ameli account :

• Go to the Ameli website (www.ameli.fr) and click on “Je crée mon compte” (I create my account):

• On the next page, enter your personal information such as your name, social security number (from your Carte Vitale), date of birth, and postal code:

• Click “Continuer” (Continue) to proceed to the next step.
• If Ameli already has your bank details registered, you can simply enter the last 7 digits of your IBAN. If not, you’ll need to provide your full IBAN:

• Review the information, check the box to accept the terms, and click “Valider” (Validate) to complete the account creation process.
• You will then see a confirmation page with your temporary Ameli account number (Numéro d’Identification d’Attente or NIA):

This temporary number will allow you to access Ameli’s online services until you receive your permanent social security number (Numéro de Sécurité Sociale or NIR), which can take a few weeks.

Once you have your permanent NIR number, you can log in to your full Ameli account and access all the features, such as checking your reimbursements, ordering a Carte Vitale, and updating your personal information.
